COVID-19 Update for UX Academy Students

As the impacts of this crisis are felt throughout the world, we're aware our community is dealing with very real pressures that did not exist before the start of 2020. In particular, members of our community may be impacted not only by COVID-19 but the ramifications of being on lock-down, and caring for relatives: ill, elderly, and children home from school. We want to support you as best we can! 

Here are a few things you should know:

  • We’re accommodating one-off requests for extra time. We will work with each student to create realistic new timelines on a case-by-case basis.
  • Students are able to request a one-time pause for up to 4 weeks for people severely impacted. We will review and extend these pauses on a case-by-case basis where 4 weeks is not adequate. If you'd like to request a pause (1, 2, or 4 weeks), you can do so via the Pause Request form on the Designlab platform. Please note this pause does not affect the Tuition Reimbursement Guarantee. 

Due to the sudden flood of virtual communication, Zoom and other platforms may experience streaming issues. Please let us know if you’re experiencing any problems with Zoom during Group Crits or other virtual encounters, and we’ll work with you on a solution. 

We’re monitoring the situation closely and will provide regular announcements on the topic. Our thoughts are with our community and we’ll support students in any way we can.
