How does mentorship work in UX Academy?

UX Academy is divided into 2 "phases". The first half of the course is dedicated to skills-building and getting a solid foundation in UX — you'll work through different modules (like User Research, Interaction Design, Prototyping & Testing, and more). The second half is focused on portfolio-building through in-depth Capstone projects.

Every student has dedicated mentorship throughout the course. If you are full-time you will have one mentor; if part-time, you will have two mentors, one in each phase.

Your mentor acts like your design coach, answering design questions, helping you with your portfolio, and giving you career advice and tips on things like time management. They will also give tactical feedback, critiquing your submissions and helping you develop your skills.

Before the course begins, each student fills out a short pre-course survey, where we collect more information on your background and post-course goals. We use this information, along with your location (we have mentors all over the world), to pair you up with mentors who'd be a good match.
